A Thermal Transport Study of Branched Carbon Nanotubes with Cross and T-Junctions

This study investigated the thermal transport behaviors of branched carbon nanotubes (CNTs) with cross and T-junctions through non-equilibrium molecular dynamics (NEMD) simulations. A hot region was created at end one branch, whereas cold regions were ends all other branches. The effects on flow due to branch length, topological defects junctions, temperature studied. NEMD simulations room indicated that heat transfer tended move sideways rather than straight in CNTs cross-junctions, despite branches being identical chirality length. However, preferred T-junctions, irrespective atomic configuration junction. As became longer, current inside approached values obtained conventional prediction based diffusive transport. Moreover, directional prominent a low (50 K), which implied ballistic phonon contributed greatly Finally, collective velocity cross-correlation spectra between used analyze mechanisms for different junctions. Our findings deeply elucidate CNTs, aid management applications.
